Decisions are difficult
Still thinking on this one. Do not take the flesh colours as settled yet. I am beginning to feel that I understand this painting now ... I hope!

I was wondering whether you want the bones to look so peaceful? perhaps you do, but if not just an idea - you could make the ends of the bones where they join the flesh pierce the flesh rather than look like they are just resting on it piecefully? Looks great!
Yeah ... that is something I was thinking of ... but the theme I felt was 'diminished but not bowed" especially with a "bloody" spear in my lap. I wanted calm and strong ... piercing the flesh was displaying pain ... I think ...
then what about healed wounds around those points so they are connected?
Having seen this in the 'flesh' (or should that be bone?) - I think it's going in the right direction, but I'm still not sure about the breast bone. It looks like it's on top rather than underneath. How to portray inner armour though?
