Colour and light; WIP

This is a scan as I left this to late to photo as SueC suggested. I stabbed myself on the side of my head with a large steel ruler which was sticking out when digging for pens. Does this make it an industrial injury? I am fine now but it stopped work for the day.

Abbey Street; WIP

I am frustrated with the scanning as I can not get it to show the subtle tonal values!

Abbey Street

Thank you all for the good wishes you sent me. My voice still does not work ... first thing in the morning it takes some effort to even get it to squeak!

Work on this picture has speeded up but there is still away to go. If you click to enlarge there is a dead bug in front of the lady's face. I've now taken glass cleaner to the scanner ... now!

I can only speak in whispers but work has started again. Showing you a tiny portion for now!

Abbey Street

Abbey Street in Eynsham has some very pretty cottages on one side and on the other nose to tail cars are parked. These are some ideas about a new painting.

Spem in alium finished

Well ... have learned things from this drawing. The starter is that the pen I was using does not use water proof ink as per the label on the barrel. Drawing would be easier if I started from the back next time. Seriously think of drawing a smaller size next time; A4 took around a
90 hours.

Spem in alium

'Spem in alium' by Thomas Tallis was the new CD played in my friend's car when we went for a day out in the Cotswolds a few weeks ago. Wow! Listening to this music and my mistranslation of the title as 'Hope in another' started me on developing a painting on my feelings about the evils of the fundamentalism of my local church, St Leonard's.

My friend has since given me a copy of the CD for a Christmas gift. I am most grateful!
I am curious about how you feel about being shown process shots of my work as it develop? I love seeing it an other artist blogs.
