Ruth's Christmas gift

Ruth has asked for a painting of herself going to surf as one of her Christmas gifts. I think this is the first year any of my children have had more then a passing interest in their Mother's work. She has approved the above sketch and my tail is wagging with pleasure.

I stopped seeing this as my face and got interested in trying to show the soft flesh. This was a struggle so I lost the freshness of watercolour in my efforts.

I was surprised to see how much I looked like my mother. Everyone else saw how much K and R look like me.
