A Jewel

Meadow Grasshopper

ink and watercolour on Bristol board

This little jewel hopped on to my trousers from the grass. I was surprised to find there were so many types of grasshoppers with variations of colours. He seems to cope with his missing leg. Do you thinkhe will make a good decoration for the text panel?

Iris

iris
ink and watercolour on Bristol board

More dercorations for a text panel for the 'Wharf Stream Way'.  This flower was a little difficult to  use for a decoration as it grows in large groups on slow moving water. So I have opted for the vase of Iris look,

Triton was the son of Poseidon, the sea god, and was comanded to blow on a shell trumpet to calm the waves.

Here I show a sexy hunk stradling the waves and blowing for all he is worth. So the next time you pass the Radcliffe Humanities check him out.

Our local Bread Ship

Eynsham Bread Shop

I have spent the week drawing this view of our local bread shop whilst waiting for the oil paint to dry on my other paintings. Eynsham is a large commuter village that manages to keep it's sense of comunity.

I am still thinking of doing a larger oil painting of the Morris men. This study shows me that I am still getting bogged down in the local colour of things and not 'designing' the look.

Spirits are up lifted when Spring comes. We forget the winter and frolic like the lambs in the fields. Well ... at least I did down the fields by Cassington Road today! This painting and prints will  be availiable during Artweeks at the Evenlode DIY in Eynsham from the 18 to the 27 of May.

Yet again the price for the framed original will be £70.00 and the prints will be £20.00

A painting of a scene from last autumn of the centre of my village. There is only few minutes' when the sun sets' that the light rakes through the gaps in the houses to show this drama. The cotswold stone glows against the deepening shadows where colour unseen in the day flashes momentarily. I think this would make a good picture in oil paint.

The original painting and prints will be availiable during Oxford Artweeks in May.
