I am playing with the idea of screws being like fossel Turritella shells as Wytham Hill on the other side of the Thames is the remains of a Jurassic reef.

 So come with me now on a journey through time and space to the world of the hardware shop. I am exhibiting in the Evenlode DIY in Eynsham in 2013.

The screws are reministance of Turritella Shells which have exisited from the Cretaceous to recent times.

The under painting allows me to slowly develop the portrait by solving the the process step by step. Here I have looked only at values; light and shadow relationship. The red of the background is acting as the middle value between dark and light. I achieved this by wiping out the paint where needed achieving soft or lost edges. The paint needs to dry now before I procede which I think will take about 7 to 10 days.
